Case: Entertainment Venue Security Planning
In the wake of the October 1, 2017 mass shooting at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas, a large resort developer in Latin America grew concerned about the risk of mass casualty events at two large high-profile entertainment venues on his resort properties.
Banyan Risk Group’s corporate security risk mitigation experts conducted security assessments at the two high-risk venues with the goal of identifying potential vulnerabilities to any mass casualty events including shootings, explosive devices, and chemical, biological, and radiological attack scenarios. Banyan personnel conducted extensive on-site visits of both venues to assess their vulnerabilities and developed an extensive array of mitigation strategies to drastically reduce the risk of mass casualty events from occurring at each venue.
Banyan experts tailored recommendations to fit the company’s unique requirements for rigorous yet unobtrusive security protocols. Banyan helped the company’s senior executives develop realistic short, medium and long-term implementation and training strategies to ensure a smooth transition to the new security protocols. With this road-map in hand, the resort security team and supporting business units diligently worked toward the eventual goal of having the safest resorts and entertainment venues in Latin America.
